The
Commanding Structure of the Shinsengumi
The
Shinsengumi was still a new militia, thus the many
changes of structure and command. Click on a name
for a profile (a name is not linked I'm currently

Tired of Hijikata
and his ways, Itou lead a group of Shinsengumi
members to leave the militia and to do their own
thing. Saitou Hajime was sent to spy on this by
Hijikata and slowly became close to Itou. After
becoming very close to the man, Itou met his
death when he was assassinated by Saitou. Saitou
returned to the Shinsengumi after completing his
task (I do not know if he had killed the other
15 members that deserted the unit).
