Extra > The Last Blade/The Last Blade 2 Screencaps

The Last Blade is a series of 2D fighting games that took place during the Bakumatsu in 1864 AD. Though there is no significant plotline to the game (just that you go along to stop this sorcerer from ending the world which has nothing to do with the bakumatsu per say), the game is actually one of my favorites. Sadly, my Dreamcast had died in which The Last Blade 2 was released on but I managed to grab the roms for the Neo Geo CD gaming systems in which The Last Blade 1 and 2 were released on back in 1998 and 1997.

The only bad thing about this game is that the people who bought the rights for the US and translated it... mistranslated the game. The first game was tolerable, though there were some heavy grammatical errors (ie: I HERE TODAY!) but the second game was just atrocious. The ending taunting catch phrases were pathetic. But if you put that all aside, this would be a perfect game for all you Shinsengumi fans!

The only thing that made The Last Blade 2 feel like a sequel was the addition of like new characters. Washizuka, the Shinsengumi from the first game, also got a partner in the second game named Koujirou. She and Washizuka mostly have the same moves though Koujirou has more forward thrusts than Washizuka who does more upper and lower thrust moves.

Do not ask me where to get this game or where to download it because that's too much of a liability on my behalf. If you want this game, then go search for it yourself. It is not illegal to have the roms of games on your computer if you own them, but it is illegal to have the roms on your system if you DON'T own them.
